Žima, with a new strategy towards Europe

03. 4. 2012

Žima, as a production company for painting tools and various industry brushes, has reached the market share in Slovenia that will not substantially change in the future. Our ambitious plans outgrew the Slovenian market and therefore it was necessary to start thinking about expansion.

In the coming years we are planning to expand the Žima trade mark to the markets of the former Yugoslavia while exercising great caution due to bad payment discipline. In these markets Žima is already known as a high-quality and reliable manufacturer. However, for the EU markets, Žima, as a word with the letter Ž, means absolutely nothing.

In 2011 we developed the EnviBrush trade mark, which ties the Environment with a Brush. Many foreigners also get an association to envy and it is up to us to prove that our products deserve the envy as well. You can read more on our new assortment and trade mark at: www.envibrush.com .

Once again we received the Krilati lev (Winged Lion) award

03. 4. 2012

Gorenjski tisk storitve d.o.o.: At the grand opening of the 27th Slovenian Book Fair, which took place on Tuesday, November 22nd 2011 – the evening before the official opening of the fair to visitors – our Printing and Binding company once again received the prestigious Krilati lev (Winged Lion) award.

The Krilati lev is awarded by the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the best overall book production of a Slovenian printing company. This year we received the award for the supreme production of the book Julijske Alpe (Julian Alps) which was published by the Mohorjeva založba publishing house from Klagenfurt.

“The book boasts excellent image reproduction and printing. The images distinguish themselves by their sharpness, evenness, smooth color transitions, and perfect purity. The book is produced in accordance with bookbinding standards. In terms of printing the printed colors are extraordinary balanced and in excellent harmony. The book is also distinguished by great contrast, color range and incredible color brilliance,” the Expert Committee wrote in the award explanation.

In an interview for the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Managing Director of Gorenjski tisk storitve d.o.o., Dr. Andrej Krope, revealed: “We are very proud of the award and we are especially satisfied that the committee was able to recognize the different type of printing employed for this book. We used a new, specially developed printing profile, a unique combination of screening and inks that was developed this spring in collaboration with our prepress studio HiFi ColorStudio. By using this profile, the images are more detailed and have a larger color range and depth, which ensures a greater purity and color brilliance of the printed material. The book Julijske Alpe was the first book to be printed with this profile but by now we have already printed several books for international publishers using this profile and they are more than satisfied with the improved quality of the print.”
